Lemon and Ginger Feel-Good Tonic
With weather as up and down as ours, it’s important we take care of ourselves and give our bodies a hug from the inside. Which is exactly what this soothing, natural tonic feels like.
A simple combo of lemon, ginger and apple cider vinegar makes this a vitamin C and anti-inflammatory boosting dream for when you’re feeling sluggish after a heavy meal or if you’re feeling a little under the weather.
Try making a batch and having a wind-down warm tonic in the evening and leaving it to brew in the fridge overnight for a ‘ready to kick ass’ drink in the morning. So scale the recipe up as prep for your later tonic needs. You could even add in 2 tsp of ground turmeric for even more immunity boosting and gentle cleansing of the body.
RECIPE
Serves: 1
Time: 5-30mins, the longer you brew the more intense the flavour
Ingredients:
2 slices of lemon
1 inch ginger, slice
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
*2 tsp turmeric (optional)

Method
This one is super simple….
First bring one cup worth (or more if preparing a batch) to the boil in a kettle or in a saucepan.
Add the ginger, lemon and apple cider vinegar to a cup and pour the hot water over. We recommend allowing the mixture to brew for around 30 minutes for the best flavour.
If making a big batch place the rest of the mixture with the lemon, ginger and apple cider vinegar into jars or a heat proof container and leave in the fridge until desired.
Happy tonic, happy tummy.
